Utility payment assisatnce, food, and referrals for personal items and clothing. Weatherizing homes to become more energy efficient as well as educate customers in energy saving uses. Assist individuals/families as first time home buyers. Provide free Income Tax preparation and e-filing. Energy Crisis Intervention Program to help alleviate emergency home heating needs. All of these are free and income based eligibility. Fee based service for small repair/renovation/construction projects.

Some of our most visited programs are…Birth To Three, Children's Health Insurance (WVCHIP), Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT), Immunization Program, Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), WV WORKS Cash Assistance, etc.

Legal Aid of West Virginia ® provides free advocacy services to West Virginians, in three ways: (1) Handle civil legal problems such as divorces, evictions, and welfare benefit problems throughout the state. (2) Assist residents (and their family members)who live in nursing homes, personal care homes, and other long term care facilities. (3) Provide services to individuals who live with behavioral health challenges while in state operated psychiatric hospitals, and in communities throughout West Virginia.
